Media, Tech & Web

Everybody is relatively concerned with the modern world of media. Media issues has increased continously in the second half of the 20th century. Sometimes we are overwhelmed by the mass media and its strong influence. So nowadays we are connected to lots of more or less interesting news and information. You can be always up to date.

Selecting Information

Obviously, it is important to select information and to consum only as much as you can take without getting harmed. The media informs the publicity about nearly everything, from questions of healthy food over bloody war news to love affairs of VIPs. Meanswhile you can be informed by TV, the World Wide Web, magazines, newspapers, videos, radio, dvds or broadcasting. Nevertheless, the print media is still on the winning side. We devide so called broadsheets, so to speak yellowpress like “The Sun” or “Daily Mirror” from the serious newspapers like for example “The New York Times“, “Observer” or “The Herold”.

From Entertainment to Politics

The first category covers media issues like entertainment, music, boulevard, movies, theatre, celebrities, showbiz and stars, whereas the second category covers politics, business, trade and the finance markets. We also separate soft and hard news, magazines for females and magazines for males or different kind of special media products like scientific magazines or magazines that are only about horses. A big market is the producing of magazines for women because they are strongly interested in topics like beauty, health, travelling and cooking.

Media Research

Besides today, in our postmodern times, it is much more easier to do research to any kind of issue you are interested in. The media is a big part in the life of most of the people, you just have to think about the number of hours spending in front of your television. Of course, the media is controlled by public authorities and is supposed to declare the truth. In some countries the press is confronted with a very strict censorship, so official statements must not collide with the political course. In some countries it can be very dangerous for journalists to work there, if they are investigating in corruption or military scandals, for example in Latin America or in some parts of Asia.
